Flexible itineraries designed around your interests and schedule

Every traveller is different, and so is every birding journey. While the itinerary below showcases our flagship 21-day Northeast India birding circuit, most visitors choose a customised version tailored to their available time, target species and travel style.

We can help design anything from a focused 2–3 day visit to Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary in search of the legendary Bugun Liocichla, to week-long explorations of Eaglenest and Dirang, or extended expeditions covering Kaziranga, Nameri, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.

Whether your goal is seeing a handful of iconic Eastern Himalayan specialities or photographing more than 300 bird species across multiple habitats, we can create a personalised itinerary that balances birding, comfort, photography opportunities and local experiences.

Days 1–4: Kaziranga

Begin in Guwahati and drive to Kaziranga. Bird the marshes and woodland for Bengal Florican, Greater Adjutant, Pallas Fish-Eagle, Pied Harrier, Black-breasted Parrotbill and other grassland and wetland species. Mammal highlights may include Indian Rhino, Swamp Deer, Wild Buffalo and Asian Elephant.

Days 5–6: Nameri and Eaglenest foothills

Explore the mature evergreen forests of Nameri, with White-winged Duck as a key target. Continue towards Eaglenest, birding foothill forests for hornbills, broadbills, babblers, woodpeckers, minlas, yuhinas and forktails.

Days 7–15: Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary

Spend several days across Sessni, Bompu and Lama Camp, birding from subtropical forest to cool montane habitats. Target species include Bugun Liocichla, Ward’s Trogon, Beautiful Nuthatch, Wedge-billed Wren-Babbler, Fire-tailed Myzornis, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Purple Cochoa and multiple laughingthrushes, babblers and sibias.

Move into high Himalayan habitats around Dirang and Sela Pass. Look for Himalayan Monal, Blood Pheasant, Grandala, Ibisbill, Long-billed Plover, Snow Partridge, finches, rosefinches, accentors and other high-altitude specialities.

Days 19–21: Shillong and Cherrapunji
